Unhappy Unable to start LANSync service

I've recently installed SI5 and have been using it for a few weeks.
When I restarted the server yesterday, I'm no longer able to start the DTools LANSync service.
I get this error message: "The DTools LANSync v5 Server service on Local Computer started and then stopped." The SQL service is running fine.

Any suggestions?

Have you gone into Services and tried to manually start it?

Control Panel -> Administration -> Services

Select the "DTools V5" (or something like that...) and hit "run". Let me know if even that does the same thing.

Yes, this is where I get the error-message.
When rebooting server I don't get any error messages on server, but I'm unable to log in on the clients.
This worked fine until recently; until I powered down the server for a minute or two.

This file doesn't exist on my machine. Any other thoughts?

Now it'll be another 5 months until I get the chance to try and install again.... Ggrrrr....

The file C:\DTools\SI5\Server\Projects\DToolsCache.xml does not exist on the machine you are treating as your server? Generally deleting this file and relaunching SI 5 does the trick. Another thing that has worked when I have come across this was restarting the server. It may take up to three restarts of the server but I have seen multiple restarts correct this issue.

I tried reinstalling lansync server and everything worked fine. I originally tried installing with the projects and products folders on a remote machine. I think that is where I went wrong. I reinstalled with the folders on my local machine and everything worked fine.

Then I found where to change the location of the folders later and it all works now.

Silly me... If a reboot doesn't do the trick, just reinstall. How many times have I learned that over the years...

FYI,

I thought I had this issue, but I realized that my project and product files were on a seperate drive (not C:\) on my server and that is where I found the xml file.

Default Same issue more info...

I will be calling tech support but wanted to post this information.

I updated the server WIndows 2003 SBS with the latest windows updates.
Rebooted.
LanSync will not start.
SQL Running and OK.
Open Services click Start and error pops up that it stopped.
Opened Event Viewer/Application and there were two Errors.
I have rebooted two more times and removed the suggested XML file.
