Default Windows7 and Visio 2010(Beta)

So I decided to get a little gutzy and on a laptop that I use mainly for training and presentations (that is running Windows7 64-bit) I decided to install Visio 2010 Beta to see if I could bring it crashing down by trying to open a D-Tools Visio file.

The good news it that it worked! And it was FAST!

Now I have only played with it for a little bit, but everything functioned well and there were no issues. I must say that I love the new look.

Hello Dave,

I cannot find the drawing explorer in Visio 2010 and have searched both online and in help. And it's not in the damn view menu! Have you found it anywhere? Many of my drawings have a large number of pages and I do all of my page navigating using the drawing explorer.

Edit: I see MS did us the favor if hiding it. When I installed it must have overwritten my setting and I had to go into Options and turn on the developer ribbon. That's where you now have to access it.

David -

It is still available it has just been moved to the Developer tab which is not show by default.

Go to File, then Options and on the right column you will see that the Developer tab is unchecked, check that box and then click OK

You will see the Developer tab appear and once you click that tab on the right you will see the option to view or hide options and one of those options is the Drawing Explorer Window.

Hope that helps.

Anyone testing 2010 having any issues with pages constantly resizing on their own when a D-Tools shape is dragged onto the page? The page keeps changing to 12 x 9 again and again. Autosize is turned OFF, this has nothing to do with autosize.

Fixed it by going to page setup --> Page Size --> Selected ANYTHING other than "Let Visio expand the page as needed" awful feature.

Nice catch - just looked at mine and it is set that way already. Dont know if I changed that or if it was default in my install. Explains why I did not have that issue.

That setting is not related to the bug I am encountering, all of my pages are set to a fixed dimension only, except that Visio keeps changing it. I cannot nail down what causes it with any consistency as it comes and goes.

David

I am sure you have done this, but I need to ask - are you having this on multiple projects? Also how about a new project that is started with Visio 2010?
