Question Fastest Path to SI5 SP2

I have my SI5 Disk, and we are planning to install and upgrade from 4.6

What is going to be my fastest path to SP2, and what procedures?

Is there a bundle download of Upgrade Patches?or do I have to install then upgrade/upgrade/upgrade to get to that level?

Thanks in advance.
Paul

If you follow the installation instrtuctions in the Guide (link below) you should be good. After the server and desktop installs are complete just check for updates by going to "Start\All Programs\D-Tools\Check for Updates" (desktop) and "Start\All Programs\D-Tools\Check for Server Updates" (server). Make sure you run both! All you need to do is install the latest update...it will be the only one that shows up. Good Luck!

Question Fastest Path to SI5 SP2

Thanks ManUnitedFan...

What are the semantic/real differences between SQL EXPRESS
and MS SQL Server??

As we are moving from 4.x/bizmanager/lansync(1 pro, 1 standard) with bizmanager on a network drive.... with MS Sequel Server, is it better to stick with MS SQL SERVER, or use the "Recommended SQL EXPRESS" as per the Help video?

Can this configuration setting be changed after the fact?

Just to clarify.... Our 4.x installation is staying intact until we get 5.x up and running on what was our 3.x server. All remnants of D-tools 3.x and Visio 2002 were removed prior to installation beginning...

After we get the Server and Desktop Client installed on this machine, we will bring the other 4.x client up to speed and leave the 4.6 server waiting in wings should we have any conversion issues/conflicts with 4.x projects that SI5 cannot deal with......

Any info would be appreciated..

Thanks.
Paul

Perhaps I should wait until Monday for SP3.........

The only differnces between MSSQL and SQL Express are the lmitations on database size and concurrent connections. Neither of which will come into play when using d-tools. I would recommend that if you are already using MSSQL that you just stick with that.

If you decide to go with SQL Express you can move it later if you want to.
