Default installer cannot find my si4 database

Hi there,

I'm hoping to get a quick reply or I'll hve to build a huge project with the old version - I can't for the life of me get the si5 installer to connect to my existing database to migrate over. Any tips or tricks? The only item I think that is not ordinary is that I am now using lansync whereas before I was standalone.

Thanks,

Joe

If you get stuck, go ahead and complete the install without migrating the data. Install the SI 5 client on the machine with the most current SI 4 database.

Open SI 4 and Backup your existing MasterTable. Close Si 4

Open Si 5
See MMPD > Admin > Database > Convert a local product database.
path should be something like..
C:\Program Files\D-Tools\SI 4\MasterTable.mdb

Then
MMPD > Admin > LANSync > [Copy Up To Server]

They you can Synchronize all the other SI 5 machines.

See the MMPD section of the User Guide.

When you run the installer, it is looking for data from an SI 4 LANSync server, not your local MasterTable. You will skip that step and load your data via MMPD.
