Default Visio CAD Error

I've been working on a drawing with a CAD inserted and now all of a sudden Visio complains when I try to open it. I get the following error message:

Quote:
Open CAD Drawing - Cannot open file. The file may not be a DWG or DXF file, it may not be a supported version of the DWG file format, or it may be corrupted. Check the file and try again.
Now the drawings have had this same CAD file all along, and I really haven't made any changes to the CAD file or even added any additional pages at all so I'm thinking the issue is a corrupted Visio file? Thank god it's on our server and I was able to roll back the file to a previous version and get it working again, but I've lost a bit of work in the process (shapes placed on the drawing). Is there any way to recover the file or keep it from happening in the first place?
