I think it would be really neat to be able to create a bunch of I/O templates, off the top of my head:
"DVD Player"
"Display"
"Receiver"
"16 zone RGB Switcher"
"16 zone audio switcher"
The idea would be that those templates would get you close to where you needed to be, and you could go from there. This would just be another way to do it all in I/O studio, so that users don't have to remember to start by copying a similar SKU, nor move between skus to copy and paste.

Hey David, that sounds like what we created in our current STARTER Mastertable, a whole catalogue of TEMPLATE data that can be used for creating new items where the I/O tables are already built, now with I/O studio you could use that template data to transfer I/O's to new items!
Trouble with me is I've always been too early, like a pioneer, the guy with all the arrows in his back! LOL!

Hi, I would recommend an "export configuration" so when we correct a product that isn't completely "accurate" or if we further clarify the inputs... you guys can then easily get the information to add it to your master database.

IO Studio templates: Similare Idea
I like your idea. I have been thinking the same thing.
A similar idea would be a browse button that would let you pick another manufacturer/model as the basis for the current items IOs.
We certainly appreciate this added feature and know it can only get better.

I/O Studio now makes it so I don't have to cringe everytime I have to do schematics. It really is something that was badly needed. I only have a few suggestions:
1) Is there a way to insert an input/output rather than adding one to the end? Right now if you want to add a signal you have to click add or go the the end of the list and start typing then click the up arrow until it's in the right spot. I think that instead the add button should insert a new row right above or below the currently selected row - if you wanted to add a signal at the bottom of the list you would already be at the bottom of the list anyway.
2) As others have suggested in addition to the saved configurations some sort of saved templates as well. Even if it's just to quickly save one complete product, open another product and paste the complete I/O configuration into it. Having a way to save multiple configurations as templates would be even nicer.

Hey Mat!
You can select, drag. and drop and I/O from the bottom to the middle or top or in-between, then dial it in with arrow up/down as needed.

This is a vast improvement, but the auto increment needs a grouping option. As an example if you choose 5 connectors, and tell it to auto increment it does input type a1, the a2 ... to ax, then b1, b2.... In reality what I want is the ability to group input 1 all five then input two all five... So it would be in this order rca1-1,rca2-1, rca3-1,rca4-1,rca5-1, then input 2 so rca1-2, rca2-2, ... as so on. Grouping by inputs not signal type.
Boy that was harder to describe than i thought hope it made sense.

Also the ability to edit saved configurations. EG you found that you need to add a - at the end for concatenation purposes.

Just got on to request the exact same thing. The only way to really edit a saved configuration now is to add it to an input or output, edit it there, save it back as a new configuration, then finally delete the old configuration. Kind of a PIA.
Also, I need to change the formatting on a label. How do I do this? I accidentally had my Caps Lock off on something that I want in all caps. Didn't catch it until it was too late. I deleted that saved configuration, but now when I try to create a new one with all caps, I/O Studio wont let me do it. It forces me back to my no cap entry, even though I deleted it previously. How can I fix this?
