Default adding a speaker shape without adding a speaker

We do a lot of pre-wire jobs that do not always get trim-outs. I would like to represent where the speakers go on the plan view in visio with a shape- but do not want to add a pair of speakers to the project. suggestions?

Default Mfg: YOUR COMPANY Model: Prewired Speaker

Create an item in your database in the speaker category called:

Mfg: YOUR COMPANY Model: Prewired Speaker

Phase: Rough-in Cost: $0 Sell: $0 Labor Hours: 0

Copy one of the D-Tools Speaker Icon Shapes and rename it Pre-wired Speaker Shape and add a 'PW' to the shape

Assign that shape to you paln view for the new model you created.

OR

You can just create a non D-Tools Visio Shape for this item and drop it on the page - it will be unrelated to your data and will not create an engineering transaction to use in the wire reports

OR just drop an .jpg of an image you want onto the page and copy it all over where needed.

Lots of ways to do this - the best way for you will depend on how you use D-Tools to create your project documents and what reports of of value to the people in the field who are the ones that actually use them to get the job done.

thanks Kevin, I appreciate your suggestions. I need to think about this one for a bit to figure out which way will help my process the most.
