Default Blake's Insert System Video - Folder problem

In the video you talk about creating a "Template" project in the Default (local, right?) folder, and then leaving it checked out, then inserting it into a new project. But if it's in the local folder on a particular pc, how does someone else from another pc on the network get to use that template to insert into another new project?

Also, now that we have "copy project", when should we use it vs. "insert project"?

Thanks,

David K

My guess is that the Template will be checked back in once you are done with the Insert. You would only check-out the Template for the duration of the Insert process.

You can use Copy Project if that is more appropriate for the project. Templates, as I understand them, are well engineered systems that could be used in multiple projects. Think Packages with drawings.

Incorrect you would be my middle aged Padawon learner.

Copy the file and rename. Then save to a folder you call Templates. What ever you do, do not save the Template folder to the d-tools server files. That would be bad. Well not really, but it would be better to save somewhere you can access or your team can access. Say on a server that when you select insert system you can easily Browse to. Browse being the key word here, because it does not matter were the templates files are located as long as you can browse to them.
