Shared Stencil
Problem and Solution:
Problem...
Alterations to stencils on local machine would not update server pc or any other local pc's with LANSync even while being on the network to the server pc.
Solution...
Quoted from Seth Enos email reply
"LANSync does not synchronize any customizations made to all files in the software, it only synchronizes changes made to the MasterTable database. In order to share customized Stencils with each machine, you need to place a copy of the file in the folder that you have designated as your LANSync shared folder. So if you added a custom Master Shape to the Lighting stencil on your machine, you would need to copy the Lighting.vss (.vss is the file extension for Visio Stencils) from your C:\Program Files\D-Tools\SI 4 directory to your LANSync shared folder. The next time another user synchronizes with LANSync, any files in the shared folder will be compared with files in that machine's C:\Program Files\D-Tools\SI 4 directory. If the date/time stamp is newer on the file on the file in the shared folder than the existing file in the C:\Program Files\D-Tools\SI 4 directory, or if the file does not exist in the machine's C:\Program Files\D-Tools\SI 4 directory, you will be prompted to copy the file to the machine."
This is also the case for projects edited when logging on to D-Tools away from your server pc. You must manually transfer the updated files to your server pc. Be careful with multiple users!!!
