What's the easiest way to export my Database with just make model and description to either Word or Excel so I can use it to do an inventory count?

Dang man... you need to get a job over at D-Tools coming up with content. You are single handedly boosting this forum. The way someone showed me was to run a report called "Database by Manufacturer" or something like that and it is under the "Other" type of report instead of Installation, Management or Client. You have to choose a project, but it doesn't matter because it does your entire database. Once you do that you can export it using that little envelope with the red arrow and save it as an Excel file. It doesn't provide a ton of info, but it sounds like it would be enough for what you are looking for.

Post Frustration

TY! I just see the potential in the software to do more than it is capable of. I have a TON more of ideas that if they were implemented would make life just a little bit easier. Makes no sense to me on some of these work-a-rounds that are needed to get the results you want when it should be as simple as opening the program itself.

I can tell you that we (meaning a few people in support and development and certainly sales) are looking at the posts often. We certainly see extreme value in what you guys are saying and are taking note of things that seem to be an overwhelming issue for the community. Obviously we can't solve every issue for everyone, but as more people come onto the forum and we see trends in what people need/want we can make adjustments and plan for future versions.

Reed is a very valuable resource and a wealth of knowledge on the inner-workings of our software. He has had to manipulate and modify the software to make it fit his company's model so he knows what to do and how to do it when it comes to "finding a way".

I wish I could spend more time on the forums than I do, but I think the more we point people here the bigger it will get and the more self-sufficient it will become. Allowing us to merely sit back and take note of hot topics and issues.

Default More reasons

Now I need to export for Mobile Windows 5 purposes. I would like to export to a text doc so I can view in word or excel so I can Make a form with the data, just the main items. This would be a small app. for our 'service' technician to quote items right there in the field and give them an overall price on an upgrade or a trade in. This is the company's data that has built and maintained, why can I not use / export it?

Jordan, the process outlined by FSUfan above should give you what you are looking for. As you know, any Crystal report can be exported to Excel. If this does not solve your problem, let me know.
