Default D-tools SI5 SP3 64-bit status

The 64-bit discussion has been present over several treads in this forum. I'd like to create a summary here.

What is the 64-bit compatibility status for:

SI5.5 SP3 with AutoCAD 2011/2012 64-bit?
With Visio 2010?

Other known issues on running SI5.5sp3 on 64-bit Win7?

I'm Glad you brought this up. I am now looking at purchasing a new laptop and need to know those things. Can I have a 64 bit laptop and still talk to my Vista Desk Top that has the server?

Thanks,
Daryl

Here is the current Software Compatibility list for SI5.

Specific answers to your questions as of 4-13-2011:

1. SI5.5 is NOT compatible with any 64-bit version of AutoCAD or Visio. This link shows a possible work around to get the 32-bit version of AutoCAD to install on a 64-bit machine. Also, keep in mind that you can't install the 32-bit version of Visio on a machine that is running the 64-bit version of other Office products.
2. AutoCAD 2012 32-bit is not supported yet, testing is underway.
3. SI5.5 works find on 64-bit operating systems. The only issues are with the integration to 64-bit applications as mentioned above.

We are having good success running SI5.5 SP3 on Win7 64-bit machines. I would recommend using Visio off of your SI5 CD to keep things simple and the link Senos posted about installing 32-bit AutoCAD in a 64-bit Windows environment is the way to go. About $30 for one seat or $100 for a site license.

Thank you for the work-around ideas.

I would like to know the status of native x64 compatibility. I understand I will not get a release date, but I would like to know if it would be soon enough that I can wait (months) or if I need to do the work-around.

Thanks.

The website says 2012 is now supported, but I can't get the D-Tools menu to show up in AutoCAD. Do I need to do anything to make this work?

Thanks.

Go to Control Panel; Programs and Features; find System Integrator 5.5 in the list and highlight it, then click on Change. In the popup menu select Modify and the find AutoCad Add-Ons and make sure that they are installed (if you click on the + sign you will see the different versions of AutoCAD)

Hi Dave,

I've tried that. When I get to the Custom Setup, it shows System Integrator, Quicklinks, Visio Add-On, and AutoCAD Add-Ons. When I click on the plus sign next to AutoCAD Add-Ons, it simply says "AutoCAD". It shows that it is already installed.

I did that...they told me to do the same thing you said, and to try uninstalling and reinstalling AutoCAD. I have done all those things, and am still having the same issue.
