Question Adding a .dwg floor plad

What is the correct way to add a .dwg floor plan to my project?

I've tried:
-copy/paste
-inserting the floor plan as a block
-importing it as a project

Some work, other don't. Just need to know what is the correct way, step by step so we can all follow the same process.

Thanks!!!

If you are working in Visio, then use the Insert->CAD Drawing command. This post covers how to insert a CAD drawing as well as what must be done to the CAD file to make it compatible with Visio. If you are working within AutoCAD, you can just insert the floor plan as an xref to the plan sheet you are working with.

Mauricio,

What Seth says, it works 95% of the time for us without issue. the CAD files usually needs to be "prepared" prior to Visio insertion without issues.

From his description (inserting as a block etc.) it sure doesn't sound to me like he's talking about inserting into Visio.
