Is there any way for Dtools SI5 to work as an inventory tracking system?

For example, if an employee were at the shop and wanted to know if we had a certain product in stock instead of checking the warehouse, he could search for the product on a computer and it would tell him how many of that item we had at the warehouse.

I've looked at the support wiki but don't see anything about it. My manager thinks that this may be possible with Dtools rather than using another type of database software.

I know there is an check inventory button in QuickLinks but I have never used or or know what it does.

There is a way to check your QB inventory for an item using QuickLinks. When creating an Estimate in QuickLinks and you are on the Add items screen, there is a box that says "Check QB Inventory". As long as the corresponding QB item is of the 'inventory' type, it will check that product's inventory and also let you know what qty is on order. What it wont tell you is if any of those items in inventory is reserved for another job.
