Default HELP! Corrupted file, cannot restore revision

I was saving a new revision of a project and D-Tools crashed. Upon reopening the Visio drawing file I received the message that it was "not a valid D-Tools file". No problem I thought, I'll just promote the last revision. But because the file is corrupt, when I attempt to promote the last know good revision D-Tools crashes. I called D-Tools tech support and they told me to import one of the (known good) revisions as a new project. That requires:

1. Rename the dtlrev file as dtl and remove the read only.
2. Now I take the drawing file that is the same revision and take it out of the zip folder that is created during a revision and put it in the same folder as the dtl file.
3. At this stage if I open the dtl file in text only it is fine, everything is there. So if I now I open the Visio file as expected it asks me what dtl file I want to associate it with. I choose the dtl file and before my eyes every D-tools obect on the drawing disappears and the data matrix shows 0 items. Now if I look at the dtl file that was previously several magabytes it is 17 kb or something like that.

I duplicated this behavior with multiple different project files so it has nothing to do with my corrupt drawing. What is going on here? What do I need to do with one of these revision files without it wiping itself clean so I can simply restore the darn thing or import it as a new project?!

This is a classic catch 22. Program crashes during saving a revision. Now D-Tools crashes when I try to promote a good revision. Very frustrating.

Thanks,

David
