This may come across a bit confusing, i'll try and explain well.

When I create a project, it stays local and I see it locally.
When I check a project in, I, and everyone else with permission can see it globally.
When I check that project out, I am only able to see it locally, not globally.
But everyone else shows it globally, but checked out to me.
When someone else checks that same project out. On their machine, it shows up globally on all machines, and their local grid.

Is there some sort of hidden agenda behind this? Something to do with the user who created the project? I don't think its an error, but just confusing.

*When I say globally, I am referring to the "server" project grid.
