Default Project Revisions for Change Orders

I have a project that was created in October 10'. Salesman presented to client and contracted the project with him. He did not however ever create a revision for said project. Since, there have been a multitude of modifications to the project. He now wants to present the client with the change order. Now dammit all to hell, he never created a revision to compare the change order to. I have checked out server backups and I am falling short of finding the old SI file to restore to D-Tools.

Does anyone have any suggestions or resolutions?

TIA

I have had this issue before. My solution checking the project in. Re-naming the .dtl files on the server. Finding a backup version of the file somewhere. Sometimes a local copy is good. Copying that to the server. From there, I have the project in the status as the same at when it was 'contracted'. I can make the revision. Then I "insert system" from the project I want to reflect from the re-named .dtl.

Since I couldn't find a good copy of the .dtl from the time I was looking for, I had to completely re-build the project to reflect the proposal I had signed by the client. VERY annoying and arduous to try and replicate line item by line item. Especially when I don't know the exact markups or labor rates behind anything.

Could anyone else think of a better option if I need to generate a revision from a prior project status without a backup of the .dtl or manually restoring it by line item?
