Default Accessories of Accessories not added?

To try and minimize QB items yet still make it easy for clients to read through out System Designs we have created 'placeholder' items like 'DVD install', 'Control4 device integration', 'TV Install'. We also have items for labor (pre-wire, trim, finish, programming) that are set up as 15 minute blocks. Because we don't want a bunch of item-specific labor items in QB we add an accessory to each 'placeholder' item, then only port over those accessories. For example, 'Control4 Device integration' has a price of $.01 and qty (2) programming labor (30 minutes). Then when porting to QB we never port the $.01 items, only the accesories.

However this has exposed what looks to be a bug. If we add this 'placeholder' item to another item as an accessory then the labor on the 'placeholder' item does not get added to the project. It is like accessories of accessories are ignored.

Does anyone know of a fix for this?

An item added to a project is a "parent". Consider accessories at "children". In SI, if you add a parent that has a child it will be added. But if your child has a child, you could call it a "grandchild". This is not allowed in D-Tools.

As far as your QB, your question is hard to understand. But what I learned is to have as very little "fake" line items in D-Tools as possible. Try and make everything an actual model number and something that can be tracked in QB as an inventory item.
