Question Project Grid Question

This is (hopefully) a simple question.....

At the bottom of my project grid page is a little slider bar (it currently says "Page 1 of 2").

What is this for? I have my projects sorted alphabetically and I notice if I go to page 2 there are some projects listed that are note on page one - but they are not sequential!!!

Meaning - Page 1 has a list of projects listed A-Z, and page 2 has a DIFFERENT list of projects listed A-Z. WTF? How would I look up a project?

Please help.

Thanks,

Dan

This issue is being addressed in Sp3. Projects sorting will work across pages.

Thanks for the responses.

This seems a BAD way to sort.

We sort by Project Name (which always includes the client's name). Ideally, I would like to sort across however many pages there are, and then be able to type in the first few letters of the name and have it go to the page where those projects are.

Are you saying that all your projects are active and none can be archived? Archive something ... maybe that will help get it to one page.

We just started SI5.5 I don't know about "archiving". Are you supposed to archive a project once it is completed? What are the repurcussions? Can you not edit or add any more change orders to an archived project?

Sorry for the newbie questions. We never "archived" projects in SI3.6 (which is what we just came from).

you can always "un-archive" the project if you need to open it back up and edit/make change orders, so there's not really any problems with archiving once the project is complete.

another thing you might do to clean up your local list is to "Remove Local Project Files" when you're not actively working on a project.

Looking for that fix in SP3

OK - Thanks!

I have been cleaning up the local files. I'm the only one in my company that uses DTools, so I can keep things pretty clean.

Also looking forward to that fix!

This issue has been fixed in SP3. Check SI5.5 SP3 Release Notes - D-Tools Documentation Wiki
