Another way to accomplish this that might be a little more versatile- Make a copy like Seth said, then open the copied master shape, add guide line where you want the connection points (assuming multiple for more then one piece in a single shelf will be beneficial), select the copied shape, THEN--use the connection point tool (on the drop-down menu of the connector tool), (you have to hold down the "Ctrl" button) and add as many as you need....No shapesheet, no code, done.

Great advise, we use the connection point tool all the time in drawings. It allows you to create the "connection" in exactly the place that you want it.

Thanks Dave and Seth - good article Seth.

Tim, that sounds easy enough that I'll have to give it a try. Thank you.

Hey Tim,

I tried your suggestion but it seems that the connection point doesn't snap to the rack. From what I know, lines snap to connection points but points don't snap to other points... If I'm missing something here, by all means let me know.

Anyway thanks for the suggestion.

Correct, this is a feature that must be turned on in the Glue/Snap settings (Check your glue/snap icons make sure they're ALL on).
