Default When is the next service pack coming?

I am about to embark on at least 16 hours of work that could be accomplished in 1 with a functional copy and past mechanism - which I understand is finally coming in the next service release (thanks Naresh). So I am very eager to see that :-).

Default SI5.5 SP2 Scheduled Release

David,
We are currently in the regression phase of testing SP2 for release to existing customers. We are scheduled to release SP2 via automatic updates in Mid-April.

Best,

Corey Krehel

is updating the server to SP2 going to disable all my SP1 clients?

RANT COMING!

OK, so I open D-Tools and am greeted with "SP2 Trial Now Available". So I assume this is for your existing customers, otherwise why would you announce it all over our D-Tools clients? So I go to download page, fill out all of the required info, hit submit and get the answer "sorry you are not eligible, a copy of D-Tools has already been registered to xxx@xxx.com."

Now on the web page I did see "SP2 will be made available to existing customers via automatic updates beginning in mid-April (target date 4/15)" but I just assumed that meant that it would be officially rolled out then, not that existing customers could not try it now! I mean, what type of company would not give their existing hardcore users access to their trials, right :p?

This is the type of user experience that just drives me insane. You took what should have been an exciting announcement and managed to turn it into a negative. That takes effort :p. If your concern is that you don't want existing users using it on live systems, then just tell us not to !

So I guess I'll have to use a bogus email account to get access. OK, I can play that game :p.

BTW, the download page won't work with Firefox either. It asks you to re-enter your email address, but the field to enter the email address only shows up in IE.

Richards,

When you upgrade your server to Sp2 you will have to upgrade all clients to Sp2 also. Many of the service calls have changed.

David,

Also for me the trial download works fine in Firefox. I am able to see the email address field.
Can you attach a screenshot of the page you are taking about when you get a chance?
