Default How to Convert Si4 Visio Tempate to Si5

It appears that we cannot use our Si4 template in Si5. We have data elements in the Template that pulls in project information.

When attempt to use this template in Si5 we get an error message that tells use to "Open with Navigator.exe"

So how do you convert a Visio Tempate from Si4 to Si5?

Ch,

Follow these steps (take appropriate backups first)

1. Copy SI4 template to the "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\D-Tools\SI5\Templates" folder. This is the SI5 templates folder.

2. Open Template in Visio (use File | Open in Visio). Do not use Windows Explorer to open template as that opens a template copy.

3. Remove all VBA code from template. Press ALT + F11 to get the VBE Editor and simply delete all VBA code in "ThisDocument" and delete any code in any Modules. Si5 does not use VBA.

4. Open the Document Sheet. To open Document Sheet click View | Drawing Explorer Window. Right click Drawing name and click "Show Shape Sheet". This opens the document shape sheet where you can set document level properties.

5. In the "User Defined Cells" section of the shape sheet add a property "User.DToolsSiProject" (just type DToolsSiProject" and the value is TRUE. To add a new row to the "User Defined Cells" section right click in section and click "Insert Row". Note: the Row Name is DToolsSiProject and the value should be TRUE.

6. Close Shape sheet and save template. Close Visio.

7. Create a D-Tools drawing based on this template and it should work in SI5.
