Unhappy Publish to PDF: No Title Block Layer

We keep copies of all our drawings on our server in pdf format. I am finding in Si5.5 that the background title block layer doesn't make it to the pdf on all pages. I haven't done it enough to be sure of the pattern: might be that the first page doesn't get the background, or maybe all but the last page.

Does anyone have a fix for this?

Thanks

Note: I am talking about the "publish as pdf" feature in Visio, specifically v. 2007

Hi Mike,

I assume you mean publish to pdf using the component that is provided by Microsoft. if so, I have encountered the same thing. It only occurs with the Microsoft component, it does not occur when printing to pdf using Adobe Professional or cute pdf for example. Not sure if that makes it a Microsoft bug or not. Anyhow, the easy fix is you have to drag the title frame onto the actual page as opposed to the background page to get it to print to pdf using the built in Microsoft publish to pdf feature. Or use another print to pdf solution such as cute pdf. Maybe someone has another fix, I never bothered to look for one.

BTW, for those reading wondering why they do not have the built in Visop pdf support, it actually has to be downloaded as an extra from MS last I did it, so if you don't have it, that is probably why.

Saw this post and had to look at one of my PDFs to see if this is happening and it is. I used the Microsoft add on to publish to PDF and atleast it allows me to convert the needed files to PDF but on a 10 page document, page 1, 3 and 7 are missing everything on the right side title block except for the Page Name and Number. Would be nice to know if this is a D-Tools bug or Microsoft one. Also, how much do other programs cost which would allow you to print/publish to PDF and not have this problem?

I have seen this problem precisely but with irregularity.

I have had a bigger problem with losing whole background floorplans recently with Adobe 9.0

I am going to guess that Adobe has made their reader 'not-so-compatible' with docs created in pdf by MS.

I rolled back to Adobe 8.0 and no issues with lost backgrounds (except for the instances of the problem described in this thread)
