Looks like you COMP ID schema is pulling in the first 3 characters of the cable TYPE, so in your database, the TYPE field for each cable can be modified to your liking. If you want to change the length of the COMP ID Type, you can change it for the current project and all future projects.
Keep in mind that using TYPE within the COMP ID is global to all products, so although you make adjustments to TYPE for your cables, other products may still have COMP ID abbreviations that are not easily discernable.
Our recommendation is to use CATEGORY in the COMP ID schema, this does not make different cable types discernable by COMP ID, but if your cable MODEL uses a descriptor such as CAT5 BLU rather than an obscure belden-like or west-penn-like number, there is no need for type to be used in the COMP ID.
For the current project, go to D-Tools>Project Information>Component ID and modify the COMP ID schema there.
You can update the items in your project by selecting them all in the PDM and right-click to get to the regenerate Component ID command.
To update the COMP ID schema for future projects, go to Setup>Formatting
