Not natively. The way to run SI5 on a 64-bit machine is to install Virtual PC (free from microsoft), and put SI5 on a 32-bit virtual machine (Vista or XP). This solution works very well, and many of us here at D-Tools have been using this configuration successfully for a while now.

Running SI natively on a 64-bit machine is something we plan to do in the future; however it requires major changes and will have to wait until a major version upgrade.

Yes, we are already running it on a virtual machine using VMWare. I was just hoping we would finally be able to run 5.5 natively.

Default 64 bit yet?

Ordered a new dell precision workstation with windows 7, and need to re install D-tools on it. Is the 5.5. SP1 now compatible with Win7 64bit?

What is the scope with Visio 2007? 64 bit or 32 bit?
Using business manager, but will not use a 2nd PC as a server. EVerything will reside on this one PC.

MrD -

Yes SI5.5 SP1 does have a 64-bit version available, you will just need the 64 bit installer. Shoot me an email at dave.kirn@k2dealerservices.com and I will send you the 64 bit link.

As far as Visio 2007, I don't think that it is available in a 64 bit version - at least not that I am aware of.

Dave is correct, Visio doesn't have a 64-bit version.

They do now. Does anyone know if D-Tools will work with it?

I have tried it and had issues. However I think those were Visio issues not D-Tools issues.

Ya, I was tempted to try it because one of the advantages of 64-bit is that it is faster with really large files, a few of which we have. But on MS own office page they recommend going with 32-bit office and state that 64-bit had problems with many add-ins. So I decided I did not want to go through that pain.
