Please remember that only Visio 2003 or 2007 are supported. As always this is a handy place to reference.

Steve is there a reason that Visio 2010 is not supported or is it that it is just new and we will see support in a later release?

Steve, with all due respect you've got a lot of power users here, and we are going to play with the new stuff . So unless you know of specific issues just telling us it is "not supported" is not likely to influence us :p . Most of us have a test machine we use (I hope), we don't just install it on all of our machines without some testing first.

I've been running Visio 2010 for months now and other than one irritating Visio bug I have encountered no issues with regard to integration with D-Tools. In fact Office 2010 is good enough now that we are standardizing on the beta and will be installing it on all machines as soon as it is released to manufacturing.

I should note that I have not tested integration with Outlook 2010.

As far as Visio 2007, I don't think that it is available in a 64 bit version - at least not that I am aware of.
I've just bought a 64bit system to migrate my d-tools on to. just to clarify.....d-tools 5.5 sp3 has a 64bit version? should I upgrade my office 2010 to 64 bit? AutoCAD is not a big deal for me as I only use it to import floorplans to visio, can I cut & paste from 32bit AutoCAD into 64bit Visio2010?
I can't afford a test machine to run expensive experiments with and you guys are all over this so I really appreceate any comments you can provide.

Here is a link to our current software compatibility list; this is the place to always find the most current information. To summarize and answer the questions in this thread, as of this posting date 7/11/2011:

- SI5.5 SP3 is compatible on 64-bit operating systems, it installs as a 32-bit application in the C:\Program Files (x86) directory
- SI5.5 is NOT compatible with 64-bit versions of Visio or AutoCAD, you must be running the 32-bit versions
- If you install the 64-bit version of MS Office, you will not have Outlook compatibility. Also, you will not be able to install the 32-bit version of Visio on a machine running the 64-bit version of MS Office.
- If you are running a 64-bit OS, the AutoCAD 2010-2012 installers will automatically install the 64-bit version. The only work-around that we know of to get the 32-bit version of AutoCAD to install on a 64-bit machine is explained here.
