Default So long Tigerpaw?

Judging by the blog section dtools is moving away from Tigerpaw as a CRM solution. Will Tigerpaw continue to be partnered up? I'm just getting started with TP and I'm not going to bother if it's not going to work long term.

TigerPaw is a great product and your observations may be very useful in your decision making.

More importantly, we have not seen TigerPaw get any traction in the user community.

I would expect that if you went down that road, it will be a lonely one with few freinds and any interface to Tigerpaw moving beyond what it does with D-Tools today will see you shouldering the costs.

I have no inside information to support this, only reporting what I see and making seemingly logical predictions based on those observations.

We have third party integrations with a number of companies, including QuickBooks, TigerPaw, NetSuite, and Peachtree. We chosen to have our own integration with QuickBooks out of the box because of its dominance in the market. Tigerpaw is an integration partner and is a solution that is currently available to our customers. The determination of whether or not it will continue will depend on Tigerpaw, as our strategy is to provide our core functionality (Sell the Job, Design the Job, Deliver the Job) and we provide our SDK to that enables the integration to an accounting or CRM solution depending on the customer or solution provider preference.

We have implemented our own CRM (Zoho) that meets our specific needs and every customer has to evaluate the system that best meets their needs and fits their particular culture.

We use Tigerpaw. I agree that Tigerpaw users are in the minority but I'm not sure why that should matter. D-Tools users are in the minority too. Tigerpaw is an expensive proposition like most powerful software, so you are not going to see a bunch of custom installation companies buying it like they might Quickbooks. The link between Tigerpaw and D-Tools works very well. No other software company has even taken the time to make their product work with D-Tools. I think Kevin's point that they may not maintain it in the future is a valid one, but that is a couple of years off and a third party could also write a link.

As for whether Tigerpaw is a good fit for someone, I'd be happy to share my experiences with anyone who wants to talk about it. More than anything, I recommend you get a trial from Tigerpaw and see if you think it works for you.

Randy,

With your statement and the fact that Adam Stone gives a customer testimonial on the zoho site mean that there may be future integration possibilities between d-tools and zoho?

Yes, an integration with Zoho is something we're investigating for the future, and it may happen if business conditions allow.

Keep in mind that our strategy is to create an application that is capable of interfacing many different CRM/Accounting programs, such as Tigerpaw, Netsuite, Quickbooks, Peachtree, Zoho, etc. Everyone has their own preferences in this regard and our goal is to make it easier to interface with any system users might choose.

We are started to look for an CRM solution, and since we use D-Tools, outlook and quickbooks on a daily basis, we are looking for something that integrates as smoothly as possible.

Really wanted to find something that works/is embedded into outlook for simplicity, and found Prophet 5 made by Easy CRM Software for Outlook | Simple Contact Management Software in Outlook and Salesforce made by CRM - salesforce.com as possible options. Since we only need to share the info between 2 people, lots of the software out there seems like overkill.

Would be curious to know what works for other integrators in terms of contact/sales leed info software?
