Default Transferring SI5 from 1 machine to another

Hello, just got a new machine and need to backup the data on my old machine that runs SI5 standard standalone (no lansync). Then restore it on my new machine running the same install. Anyone have some instructions on how to acomplish this?

Thanks

Back up the following directories.

1. C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR WINDOWS USER HERE\My Documents\D-Tools SI5 Projects - This contains all your projects

2. C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\D-Tools\SI5 - This contains custom reports, your Master Table, Images, stencils, etc. Very important!

3. C:\Program Files\D-Tools\SI 5 - This is just for fun, mostly system files

4. Click on START > All Programs > D-Tools > Install Utility

5. Click on "Uninstall" under DESKTOP COMPONENTS. This step is very important, if you remove the application from ADD/REMOVE the license will not be released.

6. Copy the D-Tools SI5 Projects folder from the original machine to the same location under your documents on the new PC and Install the software using the Install Utility on the CD.

7. After the installation completes, from the backup directoy (C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\D-Tools\SI5) copy the MasterTable.mdb, OrderTools.mdb, and the Visualizations folder and paste them in the same path/directory on the new installation.

8. Run updates and you are all set.

Thanks for helping me out Jose.

I don't have the directory you specified in step 2 on either machine. Also I already installed SI5 on my new machine. Do I need to uninstall, copy the files over and then re-install?

Thanks again!
Rob

Just FYI, the Application Data folder is a hidden folder and users need to go under Tools and then Folder Options, then click the View tab and select Show hidden files and folders. Once you apply and save the settings the Application Data folder shows up. Also note that when doing a Windows search for files and folders, you must also select search hidden files and folders as well.

Jose, is there a location for the directions for transferring a LANSync setup to another machine? FYI, I have only one seat and Lansync loaded, so this machine is the client and server all in the same.
