Yes, we upgraded to 5.2 a few weeks ago. In fact, that's when I really started to notice the lag.

i would also love someone to tell me how to speed up 5.2...
ive only moved into si5 in the last few weeks after becoming familiar with si4...
while ive notiecd the enhanced gfx, setup and detail in Si5, it all seems to have been at the expense of speed.
in a small project it is taking roughly 8-10 seconds to connect a wire to a shape.
4.6, in a project at LEAST 5 times the size, does it in less time.
im "hoping" there is some rudimentary setting somewhere to lose this inherent slowness, and get si5 upto a comfortable working speed.
im not even sure if Si5, or Visio2007 is causing it...
(then again, it is entirely possible there is something i have done, that is slowing the process a little)

The delay is caused by the software checking for duplicate wire connections, which is a good thing for preventing errors, but a bad thing for speed.
This is being corrected in the next release (5.5), where you will have the option to turn this off and check for duplicates manually whenever you want.

To answer question #2, I think there are some known problems with filtering.
I have noticed strange behavior but not enough that I have spent much time looking into it.

that is great news that there will be the option to turn it off, and to check manually... brilliant

I mentioned this in another thread before I saw this here but it's pertinent in light of the manual checking so I'll say it again: I'd like to see a tool or tools for figuring out where the other (offending) connection is. Either tell me on what page(s) to find it or, better, click on it to go there.
I think the tool could be useful even outside the scope of conflict. Iow, if I'm doing a schematic, sometimes I wonder where else this wire appears and would like to verify that it is where it should be. I envision something like Visio's Size & Position window and when i click on a wire, it populates with some info about this wire's usage throughout the project. Could possibly work for other items too?

Jack, this is exactly like Crestron software and tracing a signal in your program. You can click on a signal and see where it goes throughout the logic. super useful tool.
