SI5 - Good Stuff
We now have SI5 installed and stabilized on all our machines officewide.
We built a database in SI5 last week for a customer using SI5, and yesterday we assembled a $425,000 project in TEXT for that customer using the database all in SI5.
It was a good experience overall.
With a loaded project and a good framework of Zones and Locations I have found the sorting and control in the datamatrix to be very cool for revieing and doing QC on the project.
Will be doing serious plan, elevation, and schematic work with this project in the coming days and will share our perspectives, we are very encouraged at this point and believe that users who have been holding off on the transition to SI5 should install now, insert their database, and begin a project.
If you have projects in SI4 that are close to completion or very large projects, our recommendation is to wrap them up in SI4 as we have no real insight into hard core use of Biz Mgr, Revision Management, or Quicklinks with projects converted from SI4 to SI5, nobody likes pain -so avoid it and use SI5 for its strengths in new projects.
We are happy to finally stop spending a large part of our time fighting the software, and spending time using it now.
Best-
