Default Revisions

I created a revision for a project. It is listed as (Rev 0). Using the number zero as an identifier makes me think that its not so much a revision as it is the begining of a revision process. Is rev 0 really just a copy of the base project or is it possible to go back to the base after this first revision is made? If Rev0 was the only revision and I promoted it, would it dissapear? The help file is a tab bit confusing and the use of zero is even more confusing.

Thanks.

Yes, Rev 0 is technically a read-only copy of the base project in the scenario where you are at the point where the client signed the estimate and you want to have an "as sold" version of the project file. The "working" project (the only one that is not read-only) always has the hightest rev # (the # displays in the Revision column of the Project lookup). So as an example, you have two versions of a project, Rev 0 and Rev 1. You decide that you want to restore Rev 0 to the "working" project. When you use the "Promote this revision" function on Rev 0, it doesn't go away. What happens is that Rev 1 will move down to the "read-only" section and Rev 2 will be created which will be an exact copy of Rev 0. You never lose revisions by promoting them. I hope this helps.

So the top level project is still the active project, but the revisions below it (indented) are read only copies. When I change the price of anything in the active revision, the project total in Navigator is not affected; it still shows an older price. Also, why am I not seeing project pricing on any of the revisions?

In order to see pricing changes that you have made, you have to refresh the project in the lookup by right-clicking and selecting "Refresh Project" or you can push F5 on keyboard. The pricing for revisions does not display in the Project Lookup but you they do in the Reporting Center.

I see that reporting center is accurate, but Refresh Project List is not showing the current revision.
