Product Image Format - D-Tools Forum

How should I format the product image so that it appears with the correct aspect ratio on reports? I am using Proposal With Images (Install Price) and the graphics are distorted. I first though that setting the maximum height or width to 226 pixels would work but it does not. Need some tips.

I know that they need to be a 1:1 ratio width:height. If the graphic is not perfectly square it will get squashed into a square shape. I just do a little photoshop work before importing to make sure the background on every image is perfectly square. I'm not sure about the ideal size however, but I have noticed that if the image is too big it will not look as good so I'm sure there is one. Maybe someone can enlighten us.

I use the image/resize option in photoshop to make the longest dimension of the image 2" (144 pixels), then resize the canvas for the other dimension to 2" (144 pixels). This has worked well for us.

It would be nice if D-Tools would do this automatically - even if it's just to size down the image with white space around it until it's proportionent (sp??). I'd also like to see an option to grab from the clipboard. Control4's Composer software allows us to do that with jacket info etc... just copy and paste without having to save to the drive first - AND it'll automatically re-size it. Really nice and simple.
