Default "replace item" problem when in packages

When you have a package, say "Handheld control system" which includes the remote, RF unit, and accessories, and you want to replace one remote with a different one. If you are in the main project matrix screen and you right click on the remote that you want to replace and select "replace item", when it inserts the replacement item, it does it outside of the package. I think this would be considered a bug, not a feature request, since it worked in SI4, but it was the "configure" selection instead.

Sorry if this has been mentioned before, but is there a fix coming for this and other package issues???

Thanks

just like in SI4 when you configured an accessory to a parent, the accessory would maintain the package but lose it's parent.

Ok, maybe I wasn't clear. I am not replacing an accessory. Imagine the "RTI handheld control system package" consists of:

T2C remote
RP6 processor
RM433 antenna

For simplicity, none of those items have accessories attachef to them. Ideally, you would build the package with all of the RTI handheld remotes inside the package and when you bring the package into project, you can decide which remote you want to use within this package at this time. This was easy to do in SI4, and supposedly its going to return. But, for now, let's say I build this package with these 3 items, I drop it into a project and I now want to replace the T2C with a T3. So, I right click on the T2C and 'replace item' and select a T3. It adds it to the project, but its not inside the package like I want it to.

Make sense?

I confirm this action, it is as you say.

Its lame, and I have reported it.

I do not think its a bug, just an oversight.

We have had no response to our direct requests about the status of this issue, your voice may help.

It must be fixed!

Yeah, honestly, I would have thought I was bringing up old news, but couldn't find what I was describing as a problem when I searched.

Another package annoyance that I would like to address is this:

Say you setup a 7.1 speaker package. You pull it into project and then as you design the system, you realize that the HT room needs a 2nd pair of side surrounds. So, you open up the package that you have already dropped into the project and go to add 2 more side surround speakers. Well, guess what, there is no field to say add 2, you can only add 1. Ok, so no problem, I will add 1, then do it again and add another 1. Well, sorry, it gives you an error saying that there is already that item in the project. I spent some time playing with this and got the workaround, you have to manually hit save after each item that you bring into the package.

Does anyone know if refreshing packages work? I changed some pricing on some packages but was unable to update pricing in a project by selecting 'refresh from master table'. Tried is several times with no luck. I had to delete every single package and drag it back in.
