I recently downloaded the Middle Atlantic Visio Title Blocks and would like to add them to the stencil tree. Middle Atlantic has like 20-30 individual vss files for each category of parts so I would prefer to have them listen in a drop down titled middle Atlantic or make them a sub tree of equipment racks.

Is there a way to organized the Stencil Tree? Can you nest sub categories?

I place it on the page with no issues, then click D-Tools -> shape - Generate side view and it gives me the error "Could not locate side shape for product"
From this point I went and setup the side view to also be "Elevation Plain" with the same results. How do I generate a side view? Am I doing something wrong? I also tried "Side" from the side menu with no luck

So I know once you have a project, you can add many vsd drawing files to a project. I was wondering if there should be multiple text (dtl) files for a project as well?

Often on a given project, we will create multiple projects for a single job. This sometimes is the case because we will contract the electrical, lighting, AV and even phases separately. We dont want these to interfere with each other.

As opposed to copying projects, shouldn't I just be able to create a new text file and have it all in one location, like the vsd drawings?

Hello all,

Hello all,

I quite often enter product on a proposal using the page that has the Product Explorer column on the left and the Project DataMatrix column on the right - basically the page that comes up when you open a project in SI text.

When ENTERING product on a proposal (using the Project DataMatrix page) I want to hide the bold black headers on the left saying "Room Name (Installed Price)" and the Subheadings "Data System (or whatever discipline) Installed Price".

These heading take up space and screw up what I'm trying to look at.

For instance, if I click the zone heading (to sort the proposal by zone) the program sorts its by location first. I don't want that! I want the entire project sorted by Zone. Or if I sort by model #, the program sorts it by location first and then by model #. Again, not what I want. I want the entire project sorted by model # - irrespective of location. For example, I want to be able to sort by model # so I can get a quick look of how many light switches I have on the job. Even if I use the sort button in the tool bar and do a custom sort, for example, by Manufacturer, then Model, THEN Room it still breaks it up into the rooms first.

I also don't care about the installed price per room on the screen where I am entering product.

This was easy to do in SI3.6 Infact the room totals never showed up on the product entry screens, which was good.

Is there an easy way to turn off this feature, so the Product data matrix quits showing me all these room totals and subheadings?

Thanks,

Dan
