Default Inserting Fields using shapesheet

I am in the process of perfecting my templates and have come to a wall. I have already utilized the "insert text field" function and linking to the project info. I wanted to create a text field that was linked to the External Project Contacts but could not get it to work. The drawing explorer shapesheet did not have a row under the shape data for this information. I tried to insert my own row and name it Prop.ProjectExternalProjectContacts but that did not work. Any ideas? I figure there is some hidden embedded formula to link to the D-tools data. Or maybe I just need the correct name for it. This is definitely a challenge just to get the name of the architect or electrician on the cover page but now I am obsessed!

I'm trying to do something similar. For instance I would like to show the SKU on the rough in wire shape and not the Model. I added a Prop.SKU in the Shape Data Table and renamed the Prop.Model field to Prop.SKU under the text fields, but it didn't work. I did this before in SI4 somehow but I don't remember what I did...

Is Prop.SKU the right format or is it something else?

I guess an even better question is where do we find a running list of properties that can be utilized in Visio, AutoCAD, and reporting, as well as the format to use each?

Great question, any luck finding that list?

I think that with each version of SI, D-tools is moving more and more data into the database and away from the drawing. This is generally a good thing, unless you are used to hacking the old stuff

This is the list of Shape Data/Custom Properties inside of the Document ShapeSheet, which you can get to via the Document Explorer (or Shift + Show ShapeSheet)

Prop.ProjectContact
Prop.ProjectTitle
Prop.ProjectEmail
Prop.ProjectAddress
Prop.ProjectCity
Prop.ProjectState
Prop.ProjectZip
Prop.ProjectPhone
Prop.ProjectFax
Prop.CompanyName
Prop.CompanyAddress
Prop.CompanyCity
Prop.CompanyState
Prop.CompanyZip
Prop.CompanyPhone
Prop.CompanyFax
Prop.CompanyEMail
Prop.CompanyAddress2
Prop.DateCreated
Prop.ProjectNumber
Prop.ProjectName
Prop.ProjectContactPhone
Prop.ProjectScopeofWork

So does Visio Guy's answer meant that what Aantrim and Bfourney are trying to do is not possible?
