Default Droptype Icon: Elevation recognized, not plan

My Plan sheet no longer recognizes my associated plan icon.

If I associate the plan icon in elevation view and then drop it appears.

How do I change the view / page to accept the 'plan' icon when dropped?

D-Tools assigns shapes by default based on the Master Property name of the shape when dragging in items from the PDM.

The elevation page looks for the shape named 'Elevation' in each stencil.

If you want this particular plan view icon to be the defualt shape for all items in a single Category on the elevation page, then you can:

1. Open the Category Stencil for editing using 'right-click'.

2. Right click on the shape named 'Elevation' and change its name.

3. Make a copy of the plan icon using right

4. Paste in the copy and rename it 'Elevation'

SUre seems to me though that assigning the plan icon to the elevation view in your visualization tab for this item would cause it to come in to the elevation page too, sounds like that is not your experience though.

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for your reply. To elaborate; my problem is within the AutoCAD project file.
The plan view is in an elevation configuration so all the shapes I drop do not appear unless I manually assign the equipment entry to point to the icon in the elevation view in the component properties.

This is very time consuming for just one project.

How do I return the Autocad view to Plan?

Any advice is gratefully received.

If your Plan drawing page in AutoCAD is not recognizing the Plan Icons, so then change the Sheet Type.
1) Form the D-Tools menu > Utilities > Change Sheet Type
2) Click the YES button
3) Then Select the Sheet Type (Plan)
4) Click the OK button

Thanks for the clarification, I missed that this was in the autocad section and it sounded as though it was visio being used, I see Victor's reply above and agree it is appropriate.

Well, seems like you need to upgrade your SI, if you would like to get a deal please contact sales@d-tools.com

While you upgrade, use the Visualizations tab from the Edit Product dialog box to change the Plan View (drawing and block) for each of your product.
