Default Close project from AutoCAD

When I close an SI5 .dwg file from AutoCAD '07 the DataMatrix remains open and populated with data for the project.

It appears that the only way to clear this is to close AutoCAD.

Is this intentional?

This is by design.

In a single AutoCAD instance you can open multiple drawings for the same project (DTL). So say you have a Line.dwg open in AutoCAD for a project. You can close it (or keep it open still if you wish), use Navigator to create say a Plan.dwg in same project and open the Plan.dwg in same instance of AutoCAD with PDM already open.

You could even create a new drawing (based on any template) save it in the project folder (you must save the drawing in the project folder with dtl) and then drag from PDM to the new drawing. Si will ask you to set a type (Line, Plan, Elevation or Schematic) for the drawing and drop an appropriate block.
