It is a tough call because being paralyzed by not choosing a software platform is not much different than being paralyzed by choosing a software platform that has some significant stability issues. I still stand behind D-Tools and expect that they have heard the call for making the software stable before continuing to add "features". With that said, there are other platforms out there that can certainly learn a great deal about how to make good software by watching D-Tools continued problems.

Thank you for your posts. I can truthfully testify that when D-Tools is working our profit per job is significantly increased. So in that sense I do not regret our move to the program. The problem seems to be on the support side as has been mentioned. We were finally given a direct line into support today but when called it goes straight into voice mail - so now I save the time of having to choose option two in order to leave a voice mail! I guess the best thing is to maximize my up time for the program knowing that Excel will be my only option for the down times which will eventually come.

My issue is now concluded. Amazingly enough when I actually was able to speak to Dax he had the issue corrected in less than twenty minutes - thank you Dax! Our main question at this point is why it was such a process to personally speak to a support rep. Regardless I wanted to leave a note that we are now moving back to D-Tools after almost two weeks of being on Excel.

This "Root element is missing" issue has been fixed in 5.5 SP1.
