Is LANSync SI5 compatible with SQL Server 2008 R2? That's what we're currently running on the server we plan to use for D-Tools and our SQL admin doesn't want to have 2005 installed as well, so please let me know

Yes, SI5.5 can be used w/ SQL Server 2008. Here is our software requirements/compatibility list. When you are in the Software Configuration Wizard (SCW) for the SI5.5 Server, you will want to choose "Custom Configuration" then check the box that says "Install to Existing SQL Server".
