Default Any Pro Audio users here?

I've checked out the website and d-tools looks very interesting, but everything I've seen so far is geared toward systems for the home. Is there anyone here using d-tools for professional Audio/Video/Lighting systems - churches, for instance?

I'm not using D-Tools for Pro A/V but most of my background is from that side of the business. I spent 5 years working for on e of the premier A/V consulting firms in the country. I am also a sound engineer and have worked in many live music venues and have done a fair amount of radio and recording work including live multitrack.

So with that said, D-Tools in simplest terms is a database, drawing, and reporting engine that can be customized to meet the needs of virtually any company who does the following:

1. Design A/V systems
2. Engineer A/V systems
3. Document A/V systems (plans & schematics)
4. Procure & Sell A/V equipment
5. Install wiring & A/V equipment

When I say A/V equipment or A/V systems that inclues lighting control systems, acoustics packages, and virtually any related products and services.

If you are in that business D-Tools can absolutely help to streamline all of these processes.

I have done a lot of church work in the past and help maintain the systems in my own church. D-Tools is definitely the tool for the job.

If you have more detailed questions please ask.

Hi I am a design engineer for a company who designs and installs A/V and lightings systems. At present we use Autocad to create detailed layouts and line diagrams of our circuits and systems. We are after a software system that enables us to draw detailed connections of the AV components we install into the racks. We have found one that uses Visio to build a rack and drop in all different AV components from different manufactures which is great but only front and plan views. Can you help?

I am a Pro Audio user. . . And am evaluating different software options to determine what would be best for my business, and I am concerned about the products offered in D-Tools SI.

Another competitor (will remain nameless) has the AV software rolled into one, but the lighting design separate, which isn't very attractive to me. It also appears that SI doesn't have a lot of the common pro audio products that is used on a daily basis.

I need to know how easy it is to add products, and how to get accurate representations of those products without having a CAD background.

It is one of those things that has me on the wire from SI and the competition. Mind you, both products are similarly priced. SI can be an added value but I need to see that D-Tools is going to give me a sincere effort for the price I am paying for the software.

SI5 gives you several options as far as adding products goes.

Option 1: Download directly from our Product Database
Option 2: Importing products into SI5 from a .csv file with EZ MATCH or Direct Import
Option 3: Adding the products manually

We even have something called DataXchange which allows integrators to share their own databases that you can download items from (The data is not as complete, but a good starting point that can later be modified and tweaked)

SI5 Pro also ships with Visio 2007 and several Visio Stencils so you don't even have to own or use AutoCAD. You can import.dwg (CAD) drawings directly into Visio, or even jpeg and PDF files (You can convert CAD files into PDF for import). It also works with AutoCAD if you already own it.

If you have any more questions, please let us know. If you would like for us to schedule a one-on-one demo, we can also arrange that. Thanks!
