D-Tools Tab in Visio is present, But not working - D-Tools Forum

Since my upgrade to SI 5.5 it seems that my D-Tools button isn't working. I can open the drop down menu from Visio, I can select what I want (Like the Display Stencil Tree option from the D-tools > View menu) but it doesnt do anything. It looks like the link is dead for some reason. It will not let me access my DT Annotations stencils for my smart frames or anything else. I have checked the Trust Center and I still see the D-Tools SI 5 Addin is allowed, But it escapes me as to what is wrong with this. Can anyone help me restore the links on the D-Tools menus?

Please help!

Hi,

Can you try repairing the install to see if it fixes the problem. Make sure all Visio drwaings are closed (and the Visio application also).

Naresh - The repair didnt work out. I also figured out that when I create a new document, the links do not work. I have to save, close, check it in, then check it out, re-open the drawing and the links all work fine.

Does that make sense to you in any way? I did speak with Bob in support this morning, he also was stumped when I told him how I got it to work. Why won't it work when I create the drawing, but will work after it is saved, closed and then re opened?

This is very strange for sure. The check in and check out have no connection to the Visio code.

Questions -

1. Are only menus under "View" the problem or all menu(s). Does D-Tools | Project Information work for a drawing not checked in? Do short cut menus work?

2. Is your drawing read only for a project not checked in (check the Title Bar in Visio to see if it says Read only).

3. Are you using the default D-Tools Visio templates to create new drawings or have you made a custom template?
