Question No d-tools menu in visio

Okay, I'm sure it's probably user error, but I just received my software and loaded it. I loaded the visio '07 first and then the SI5 (like i was instructed). When I open the visio from a project, it doesn't bring the d-tools menu in. I installed the complete version, so I'm a little stumped. Hope someone can help.

Are you trying to open the visio file directly in Visio? or from the navigator?

Sometimes, even when you do a complete install, there are issues with the Visio integration side of it... I actually had to go back and do a re-install, use the "Custom" option, and manually make sure that the Visio components were installing.

And also, there are some permissions that Visio needs to contain, but that should be pretty straight-forward the first time you open a Visio project...

And, last but not least, disable your anti-virus. I know that sounds crazy, but some anti-virus software actually disables the ability for programs to interact correctly.

I reinstalled SI5 yesterday and now everything comes up. Thanks for getting back with me though!

I have now had this issue 2 times. One project opens in Visio and has the D-Tools menu missing. I open another project at the same time and that Visio file does have the D-Tools Menu. Please explain this one, thanks.

Ok, so I just closed out the project that had the missing "Dtools Menu", but kept the one that working open. I then reopened the file that I just had issues with and now the Dtools Menu is back. Good, but wth.

I am having the same issue, I just installed SI5 on a new machine and just noticed that my locations did not transfer from SI4 and when I went to d-tools menu it wasnt there. I tried opening different documents and the d-tools menu pops up while its opening and when it finishes opening the d-tools menu goes away. aaahhhh! frustrating!!!!

While I'm on the locations issue, the locations do not show up in visio but they are in the d-tools project information. how do I get them into visio??? maybe it has something to do with the d-tools menu, i don't know.
