Default AutoCAD 08

Has anyone tried 5.0 in AutoCAD '08? Any issues?

Default ACAD Response

At this time AutoCAD 08 is not on our compatability list for V 5.0 (you can see this list in our release notes). We are striving for 08 compatability with version 5.1.

Hope that helps...

Does anyone know if AutoCAD 04 is compatible with SI5?

Default Cad

Guess I'll just do my drawings without the assistance of SI5. I would upgrade to CAD 06 or 07 but I just don't like what they did with the program.

Can you still use 08 to clean up files for importation into Visio? What do you mean exactly when you say it is incompatible?

Thanks!

Visio can import and export AutoCAD 2000 (R15) format files. So if you have AutoCAD 08 make sure to save in AutoCAD (R15) format. This is a very good article on the issue of Visio and AutoCAD import export.

When we say D-Tools is not compatible with AutoCAD 2008 it means that you cannot do SI drawings with the D-Tools UI like Project Data Matrix, Product Explorer etc within AutoCAD 2008 now (similar to our Visio UI). The D-Tools UI works only in AutoCAD 2006 and AutoCAD 2007 now. We are striving for AutoCAD 2008 compaitibility in our next release 5.1.

Not sure what you mean here. You can make the new versions run almost exactly like AutoCAD 2004. Do you have any specific dislikes?
