Default LAN Sync Issue

Hi! I reinstalled D-Tools in my machine. After following the instructions and advises i still can't sync my computer to our LAN Sync Server Database. I'm using VPN to work remotely. The error i got is:

"could not connect to D-Tools SQL Server database. Error is: [DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen(Connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or access denied.

I tried the solution D-tools support team gave me, which is adding the IP address and the server machine name at the system32/drivers/etc/host file of my computer but it doesn't change anything. We even do it remotely while the d-tools support team address my issue and try to solve my problem. But unfortunately we can't solve the issue. Same problem arise.

I hope you can help me guys... Lot's of things to update since my last login to our database...
