Lets say I have a dozen speakers laid out on a plan view page in Visio. I notice that I would like to use the plan scale shape instead of the plan icon shape. So I right click on the speaker and select the right shape and click OK but the shape does not update on the drawing.
Should it update without me having to delete it from the drawing and replace it?
Am I doing it wrong?
Do I have to delete each of my dozen speakers and replace them for the shape to update?
When you say "So I right click on the speaker and select the right shape and click OK..." does that mean that you right-click the shape and choose D-Tools->Shape->Change Shape or are you doing something else? The Change Shape command should update the shape once you select from the "floating Stencil Tree" and click OK.
If i choose shape > change shape it will only affect the one that was clicked regardless if there are multiples selected. This one shape will update correctly but doing it for 12, 16, or more speakers stinks.
Ahhh, yes, this function only works for one shape at a time. I will put in a feature request to see if we can make this function apply to multiple shapes at a time.
You can always drop one shape on the page, make sure it's the shape you want (change shape...) and select the check box for make default, then, drop the rest of the shapes on the page. It doesn't help if the page is already completed, but...
