Default Visio Elevation Bug

Have a Visio drawing with the following sheets:
Cover Sheet
Rack Elevation
Schematics
Rack Details
Background Title Page

The original "Elevation" page was renamed to rack details and a CAD file of a middle atlantic rack was placed on this page.

A New page labeled "Rack Elevation" was created with an elevation type, and I began to build my rack elevations.

The problem I am having is that any new parts that I add to the drawing say a blank panel do not show up on the Rack elevation page. The icon showing the part is in the drawing appears but the shape is no where to be found and "Find Shape" turns up nothing.

Furthermore, if I drag the shape onto the RACK details page it does work. To make matters worse, if I add the product as new while view the RACK ELEVATION page, it adds the drawing to the RACK details page.

Grrrrrrr! What should I do, do I have to rebuild my rack in the original page?

Just for fun, have you tried to change the page type on the page that you inserted the CAD file to something other than a "elevation" type?

ok, I am going to show a glimmer of Visio ignorance, how do you change the page type of an existing page?

1. Open your project Visio file.

2. Select the page tab that you wish to change.

3. Select the D-Tools Menu, and then select Utilities, then select Change Page Type.

4. You will get a pop-up window telling you the name of the current page along with the current view type and it asks if you want to assign a new view type. Click Yes.

5. You will get another pop-up window called Visio Page Type. From there select the drop down list and select your new page type.

Looks like a Visioism - I have not had a problem like that, I was just trying the only thing I could come up with.

I would start a Visio drawing (completely new file - same D-Tools project file but new Visio file). Depending on the amount of drawing work that you have you can either start over (lets hope it does not come to this); copy from old project to new project (a little complex up do-able); or insert a system from the existing drawing (once again, not a perfect solution)
