Default Fonts in Reports and Screen displays

Is anyone else having problems with the existing D-Tool reports displaying text on top of each other? Example the Detail Cost Summary places the Project Company name partially on the Project Name. All the management reports in that section appears to be doing that. At first we thought this only affected the Window 7 clients but it also happens in XP.

We had the issue as well, I needed to re-format the D-tools stock reports with custom reports that had larger/longer text fields or more creative field positioning.. I'm sure there is a way to do it with scripting but its over my head.

yup, let's say I would have rather been deployed to Iraq but when all is said and done it was worth the effort to brand everything. I also found the stock reports to be a confusing to read with all of the black lines and such.

You can't modify the stock reports - you will need to create a copy of a stock report and modify to fit your needs. I believe this is implemented so you can always revert back to an un-modified stock report in case you make a mistake or blow up the report somehow. <

If your project company field, address field, etc... is running on to 2 lines it is most likely caused by the field being too small of a width. You can simply stretch the field to be larger and accommodate more text (or use the properties to set a specific width for it).

Yes, true.. can't modify existing so must create new reports for all stock reports that now appear to not adjust correctly. It appears stock reports were created without taking in to account max field length. Since there is no (reliable) adjustment on field to decrease font size to compensate in AR that I've found-(Shrink and Grow settings a bit problematic)... OR this became more of an issue with SP2.

We want to remove all the stock reports listings and replace with the "adjusted reports for use" but I suspect that is going to be a manual process on each workstation.

Thank you all though for the info..

Hey Barb, you're right these are all machine specific settings. The stock reports cant be 'removed' per se, but what I have done in the past for our clients is to simply move the unused reports to the 'un-categorized' report category. Then you can create a custom category called '_My Reports' or something. The categories are sorted alphabetically so playing with the naming can force it to the top of the list.

You might be able to use VB to write a script to reduce font size to fit in the textbox - but I'm not sure haven't tried to do anything like that before.
