rename drawing issues - D-Tools Forum

create drawing in project named "drawing1"
create second drawing in project named "drawing2"
open and edit drawings, save and close
rename "drawing1" to "old drawing1"
rename "drawing2" to "drawing1"
check in project

expected behavior:
project checks in, no problems

actual behavior:
get the following dialog
dialog1.JPG
after clicking OK and attempting to check in again I get the following dialog
dialog2.JPG
run into a whole slew of problems when trying to remedy the situation.

This happens if Drawing1 was checked in at least once before being renamed and another drawing called Drawing1 being made. Loged as bug #6794. Thanks.

renaming file names just seems to me to be something of a no-no to me.....

I would elaborate a bit:
manually renaming a file in a dTools project folder is a major no-no. renaming a file through the navigator interface shouldn't be an issue. after all, i'm given a rename option, i should be able to use it
