local project refresh issues - D-Tools Forum

this assumes 2 users on separate machines that have a local copy of a project in their local projects list. the project is initially checked in:

1)Both users set to view local projects list.
2)User A checks out project
3)User B refreshes local project list

what i would expect to happen:
User B sees project as checked out to User A

what happens instead:
Project is not shown as checked out until User B changes filter to Server or Archive and back OR right click and refresh the project OR select project and press F5

The same thing occurs if you're checking In a project in the steps above. Not really a show stopper but this sort of thing really causes users to lose confidence that the software is functioning properly.

Richards,

The Local filter is always reading from your "local cache" and is not aware of changes on the server.
If you change to the "Server" view and do a refresh - the refresh runs from the server - here you can see projects checked out by other users or checked in by other users as it happens.

Since this is by design, i suppose i would move this over to "feature requests". I would think a user would want accurate information in the "Check Out Status" column, regardless of which view they we're looking at (Server or Local).

the feature request would be:
a Refresh on the Local project view updates check out status.
