Default resetting visualizations

this might be considered more of a feature request than a bug, but it seems like an inconsistency in logic and its unnecessarily impeding our workflow so i consider it a bug.

Also, Im using autoCad but im sure this applies to visio as well.

I've added a product to the project for which i have my visualizations set. I select the instance of the product and open it for editing. I change the model of the product with the intention of effectively disconnecting it from the master table (this is how i'm indicating OFE, or it would be useful for custom quote products based off of a template). All the info about the product is maintained in the new "custom prouduct" but the visualizations are reset to default.

Since this is essentially creating a copy of the product that is specific to the project, shouldn't all info be copied over?

suggestions on different ways of making product show up as OFE or making custom products without cluttering up the master data table would be much appreciated as well.

Thanks
