Default Bizy Visio

I have seen this issue raised abefore about the time it takes for D-Tools to complete a transaction is visio.

I use guides in my drawings and when a D-Tools shape touches the guide, the wait time before I can do something else seems to indicate that D-Tools is tracking everything in the drawing, even things that do not matter like connection to guides.

We are also evaluating the new behavior in SI5 for bringing in wires attached to shape on other drawing pages.

This seems to be good sometime, but a hassle in other situations.

We generate drawings by signal type, so bringing in a schematic block to a page that will be used for video signals does not need all of the audio, control, and power connections coming in with each schematic block.

We have also found that bundled wires that are represented by a single shape require creativity as they will disconnect from shapes on other pages or not conenct where wanted on a new page.

For instance, a cable that includes Speaker wire and Control wire in one bundle may be one shape in a user's database.

When this cable is connected to a Keypad on a plan view drawing, there is an issue when its time to do schematics.

If you choose to connect that cable to a DATA input on the keypad on your control signal page and then to a SPK input on the same keypad on an audio signal page, you are prompted that the cable is connected differently and your choice is to disconnect the cable on one or the other page.

Still chewing on if this is good or not.

We have never found the Wire Connections Report useful, it takes to many shenanigans in the database to get it 100% inclusive of all the connections you may show and its really redundant to a well done schematic.

So if the reporting is not needed, perhaps all the intelligence is not either.

We like having the wires on plan view coming into schematics automatically, but perhaps the level of automation we have now is too much?

Not sure yet, we are working on a large project now and will weigh back in later.

Anyone else have input?
